A review for one of my favorite games of 2020.

Rogue company started development in 2018 and only released in fully in 2020 and had open and closed betas all over the place and honestly that was a good enough time for Rogue company to be in development hell. But the main problem is that they throw money at famous people and ask them to play it! Yeah it worked for older movies like in E.T. when the kid gave the alien a Reese's Piece's but it doesnt work all that well anymore! PLUS THE GAME IS FILLED WITH BUGS!
LITERALLY BUGS ARE EVERYWHERE! Currently there's a bug in strikeout where you can see the person that killed you for all game until they fucking die! Then we fucking have areas you can fucking throw the bomb on! A few of these have been patched but here's the ones that I know of:
• a crate near the objective in glacier
• ontop of the roof of the tower in lockdown (a random did it and I have no fucking clue how)
There are probably more that I have in the back of my head I just cant remember them. The bugs can be ignored if you're playing with buddies and not annoying team-mates.
Hi-Rez thinks that throwing money at the problem will fix it! No it fucking doesnt! Low player base? Advertise fucking gameplay! Offer a better battlepass! Reward the player more for fucking playing the game! Even with a minor mastery skin for each and every rogue would offer a good reward for putting effort into a game! Even if it's just a reskin! It doesnt have to be the legendary quality of Hiest Dima skin with new voice-lines, new skin effects, and literally MONEY COMING FROM A DUFFLE BAG ON YOUR BACK! It can be a recolor of that skin, it can have EVEN A MINOR CHANGE AND YOU CAN BRAG TO YOUR FRIENDS,"Hey I worked hard for this on this skin," and have bragging rights for working hard on a game that literally is made for people who played Fortnite and want something that's like cs:go but on a T rated level and got this piece of a garbage.
The game, wonderful, truely a masterpiece of coding with bugs here and there that can be ignored.
The community, nice and welcoming to new players who have tried or played cs:go and looking for a change.
The playerbase, shit coated chocolate. You cant go one game without a player tea-bagging your corpse. And the amount of rage from your team-mates I'd think it's 2012 and Im playing fucking halo! Not to mention that I FUCKING SAW A GUY NAMED FUCKING "IMARAPEYOU"!!! I FUCKING PLAYED AGAINST A GUY NAMED GODDAMN "IMARAPEYOU"!!! Overall, this playerbase has raped my eyes and bleached my ears.
HOWEVER
Ranked is much better. In the 30 games I've played, I can only say that around 4-7 players will tea-bag mid round. Aside from that, the rest of the players will only dance and spray shit on the walls and half the time it's the GG spray we all got from that winterfest event that dragged on forever. I gotta say, I dont like ranked, but I enjoyed playing it.
Aside from the playerbase let's talk about the streamers who have been paid to play it. A lot of them after a few months pulled a toy story move and "I don't want to play with you anymore" then dropped the game entirely. Example, DrDisrespect, got his own map AND skin. Next thing you know, back to call of duty modern warfare. I wouldnt touch that toxic waste with a ten foot pole, Modern warfare is full of absolutely toxic players who will curse at you in the death mic.
Overall, Rogue Company is a really good game, heart of gold community, and playerbase that is cut in half between toxic people and generally nice people.
I hope you enjoyed my review of one of the minor fps games of 2020 and I hope you keep enjoying the story, the characters, and the game itself.

My review of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. | OPINION WARNING!

Hello all. I thought I would just leave a little review of this game here since I like to voice my opinion when people don't like it. If you have not yet purchased this game, or just like to read, I implore you guys to read this review. I know it seems like a lot, but it really isn't. Also keep in mind that there may be some minor spoilers (nothing story related), so if that isn't your cup of tea, you may not want to read it. Anyways, let's get riiiiight, into the reviewwwww.
CAMPAIGN: 6/10 | Good story ruined by god awful performance.
The story in Black Ops Cold War is actually pretty good. I expected it to be awful since it's a Black Ops game and the story (looking at you BO3) or lack thereof (looking at you BO4) has not been able to compare to the first 2 titles. However, I was decently surprised. The campaign has some twists and turns that I definitely did not expect, and I was very happy to see that, for the first time since BO2, there are multiple endings that can be achieved through making certain choices.
However, through all the good in the story, came a WHOLE lot of bad. The performance in this game is just absolutely abysmal. Cutscenes are extremely laggy and delayed, so much so to the point where I have had to restart my game 4 times during the campaign just to load the next mission. There are also certain missions like Echoes Of A Cold War and Break On Through that crashed repeatedly due to textures that refused to load. I am also unable to finish the very last mission, Ashes To Ashes, due to the game crashing before the starting cutscene is even able to start. Issues like these are absolutely inexcusable when the game is being made by a developer with over 600 employees and millions of dollars. The performance in this game reminds me of a really shitty indie game. Perhaps instead of wasting resources on useless features that will be used once or twice (such as the character customization that has absolutely no impact on gameplay or story), they could use those resources on insuring that the game runs reasonably.
Now I'm sure most of these issues will be ironed out later on, but these things should not have even been issues to begin with. And now that, according to Activision, Cold War has set the record for most digital copies sold worldwide on day-one, there are more people than ever that are experiencing these issues.
MULTIPLAYER: 3/10 | Black Ops 4 2.0
I honestly do not know what I should say about multiplayer. It's just... bad. You thought BO4 had no content? HA, funny. You thought Modern Warfare's ESS BEE EMM EMM was bad? HA, funny. This game feels like getting punched in the balls, giving birth, getting run over by a semi truck, and eating glass all at the same time.
I wanted to love this game so bad, I really did. But oh my god they really fucked the pooch on this one. First off, there are 8 maps total in this game. BO4, notorious for having no content at launch, had 14. Also, the SBMM in this game is WAY more strict than Modern Warfare's. Look at this sub for 30 seconds and you'll see dozens of people posting their gameplay graphs. That shit looks like a rollercoaster.
Then there's the visibility. And to be frank, there is none. You either see so much that the enemy is invisible, or you see so little that the enemy is invisible. There is no in between.
Now I'm gonna talk about the similarities between this game and BO4. Why? Oh I don't know, maybe because this game is just BO4 assets in a new suit. Unlocking the dual wield attachment for the 1911 shows dual wield Saugs from BO4. The M82 sniper on the ground shows the SDM sniper rifle from BO4. And the M60 on the ground in Zombies shows the Hades from BO4. That's just a tiny bit of the copy and pasting that we've seen so far. And don't forget that BO4 also had copied assets from previous games early in it's life. I understand that the game had to swap developers half way through, but the fact that these things go completely unseen during the beta and after the full release is just bizarre. Like I said earlier, there are over 600 employees working at just Treyarch, with multiple studios working on this game. The fact that not a single person saw this is quite alarming.
And last but not least (although there is still a lot to talk about), let's not forget about the people who can't even play the damn game without it crashing. This is just absolutely absurd. We are paying a premium price for an unfinished, buggy, crashing game. Anyways, enough about multiplayer, let's go to zombies.
ZOMBIES: 8/10 | Great gameplay with a few very slight issues.
Now, I gotta say. BOCW has probably the most fun and exciting zombies ever. Sure, BO3 was great, but this is just amazing. The story, the gameplay, the features, the easter egg, the guns, everything. It all just works so well. And the D.I.E. Shockwave is probably the most fun wonder weapon I've ever used. The game has been out 3 days and I already have 12 hours played in zombies alone. The mystery box actually feels like a requirement in the late game if you don't have both of the wonder weapons, and weapon rarities finally allow any weapon to be good during the high rounds.
Now of course, this is without saying that there are still some issues with zombies. First off is the Megatons. Dear god are they annoying. They spawn every couple of rounds and take up basically all of your attention and ammo. They can also insta kill you even with full health and armor with jug. And on top of that, after you kill the normal Megaton form, it then splits into two more equally annoying blaster bitches. These things definitely need to be toned down a tiny bit, especially with the recent nerf of the Ray Gun, bringing it's damage waaaaaay down. Oh and by the way, there are a mega ton (HAHAHA) of these things that spawn during the easter egg, so you're basically guaranteed to fail if you aren't setup with the best weapons maxed out, all perks, with perfect movement and precision.
One more slight problem is the lack of points when dealing damage. Now, you only gain points when you kill the zombie. I know this seems like a tiny issue, but it feels like you get points sooooo slowly. However, points aren't really an issue in the late game anyways, so this isn't a permanent issue.
SUMMARY: 6/10 | 1 okay mode, 1 horrid mode, and 1 amazing mode.
The game overall is not that bad. Once these issues get ironed out, I'm sure the game will awesome. I mean, just look at how Modern Warfare was at launch compared to how it is now. However, this doesn't excuse the issues that are running rampant through everyone's games, nor does it excuse the awful performance that the story mode runs with.
Would I suggest this game to someone who plays campaign or multiplayer? Not yet. I'd wait a few weeks if you're a campaign person, or a few months if you're a multiplayer person. Knowing Treyarch, it will take a little while for these problems to get fixed, but I'm sure they will be eventually. Now, if you're a zombies player, I would absolutely recommend you buy this game immediately. It is incredibly fun and I promise that you will not be disappointed. I was scared when I first heard the zombies leaks, but I gotta say that all of my fears have melted away.
Anywho, that was my review. If you like it, upvote it. If you dislike it, downvote and leave a hate comment telling me that my mom is a poopy head. I'll catch you beautiful bastards later.

Seriously. Servers are atrocious.

Hey everyone, this might be abit of a rant thread but thats all because of my love for the game, if i didnt love it i wouldnt even bother with this.

But lets get real here, ever since the release of the Crossplay Beta the servers have gone straight to hell. I have no idea how these streamers are getting the servers they are because whenever i play now my game stutters, rubberbands, freezes, lags, no-regs, you literally name it and i probably have it to some capacity at this point. Theres still these glimmers of light when the servers actually settle for 20 seconds and my game flows like usual. Then i get hit again and its unplayable. My Modern Warfare, which is ALOT HEAVIER of a game runs super smooth, no issues at all, even in Warzone (just for comparison)
Ive checked, double checked, and tripple checked all my settings, my internet connection, making sure im not running any background programs and the servers are still to all hell. Everytime i think "maybe its me" then i run literally any other multiplayer shooter and the difference is so huge its embarrassing at this point.
Ive checked the twitter, scrolled through the reddit, but i cant see any official statement from the Devs they are 1. aware of this or 2. even working on it.
When i see streamers play the game with literally no issues, while people ON THEIR TEAM is complaining about all the issues, i wonder what the problem actually is and are Respawn working on a fix at all? Its been 11 days of this for me and its getting to the point where i dont even wanna start the game anymore (even though the itch is real) but the lag and everything just makes my experience the worst.

Sorry for the longwinded rant but i just want some answers, or atleast a poke that they are working on things.

See you guys on the battlefield! <3

!! EDIT !!
I forgot to mention that i have turned off the Crossplay features atm so im only playing with PC players, im on PC myself.

Ridiculous I am absolutely sick.

My activision account was hacked and my email changed. I followed the steps and i can't get my account because it has been unlinked in the past 12 months (not by me.) So i cant do anything on warzone or modern warfare. Lord help me if i can't play blops that i've already bought. I hope the right people see this and help me. I've spent money on this crap and have been playing since beta.

Riding the wave.

I've started paying attention to my last couple of games, on the after action report its like watching a Rollercoaster. I don't vary in skill from game to game this much and its ridiculous. I just went 4 - 17, this is just not something that generally happens, im an above average player but not a pro by any means. I was between 1.7-2.3 in every game leading up to modern warfare. In MW my K/D is 1.05.
Its already happening in Cold war. I can't find games. I load forever to find a match. People are sliding jumping into corners and prefiring me from spots I'm not even aware of yet this will happen for 2-3 games, I will get destroyed, then I'll play literal potatoes for 3 games and bam, back to the ol' sweat lobbies. I don't understand what the hell is going on. I understand the idea of CoDs lobby system but it's broken. "It" shouldn't result in this yo-yo matchmaking. I shouldn't go double positive then double negative to result in a 1.0 k/d. If I go game for game at 1.0 then so be it, but not this back and forth crap.
This isn't FUN Treyarch.
This isn't FUN Activision.
This isn't FUN Demonware.
Disbanding lobbies is terrible, I hate it, my connection isn't good enough for this crap. INVEST IN BETTER SERVERS,
I haven't made a friend in CoD in a year because the lobbies always break.
Guess what? In the Alpha I ended up with 2 new friends on CoD, and now the lobbies are breaking up in the beta.
YouTube doesn't like it.
Reddit doesn't like it.
Facebook doesn't like it.
Find me someone who doesn't have this problem, its not about pubstomping, I'm not a pubstomper, if you consider a good game 3 k/d with maybe 25 kills then yeah I guess im a "pubstomper."
Why can't the developers just listen to us with this one single thing? They have shown they will and are listening this year, so why can't the devs see and acknowledge this?
Use the matchmaking system you want but stop breaking up lobbies and give us a ranked mode, I know the devs have said they've always had "IT" in their multi-player, I've been playing CoD since the very first title. I'm no fool, and I know they've made major changes to the system.
WHY DISBAND THE LOBBIES.
WHY ARE THESE LOBBIES RAN ON TERRIBLE SERVERS.
WHY CANT THE DEVS INVEST IN BETTER SERVERS.
If Activision is gonna brag about how wildly successful MW is then we as a community deserve a better multi-player environment.
Better servers.
Better matchmaking.
Ranked and unranked with a visible mmelo.
Excuse my rant but I'm just straight up not having a good time. They're losing me.
TLDR: This matchmaking system combined with the poor servers is gonna plague this game. They have the means to fix this but won't even acknowledge it.

Black Ops Cold War Review And Thoughts!

>! Cold War Review.......!<
I have been playing cold war nonstop since release (as much as I can with work). I got myself to just about Prestige 2, keep in mind I am not the best player by any means.
There is a lot that I would like to talk about this game and get feedback about or possible game changes in a new update, maybe when season 1 comes to your screen.
-First off the game is without a doubt very fun and I do enjoy it most of the time besides when I get pissy from campers of course :) I mostly snipe as I've always enjoyed it more than reggunning just because of the difficulty barrier in my personal opinion.
-The snipers are trash most definitely every sniper would agree (compared to any COD made in the past) which is a big downfall for me. I did know this going into my preorder because I have a Ps4 and I played the Alpha before buying for the Beta and Launch, still it is sad and brutal for a hit to be this big to one of my favorite ways to play a Call Of Duty. Its not that you cant snipe and get nasty clips with the snipers but, it's not the same skill gap that we as snipers should have with the hard work put into learning to be good as a quick scoper.
-The Aim Assist is so insane, being able to lock on to people across the map with just an ADS across the map is something that's never been a thing. It's like using a reggun with half wall hacks which consider the huge nerf to snipers is crazy to me. You would think at least the snipers would be on par with them but that's just not the case what so ever. Almost to the point where you don't want to snipe because your chances of losing are so high. As such the M16, Ak-47, MX4, Krig 6, QBZ-83, along with SMG's like the Milano 821, and the AK-74u that can outgun a Sniper at very long range kid of takes the fun out of sniping the nonexistent recoil is something out of this world as we know.
-There is SOOOOO MANY times when you should most definitely kill people and the game just doesn't register your shot/kill. As well as kills that you shouldn't get and the game gives it to you, which can be very frustrating every time it happens to you. Especially when I'm Streaming or trying to hit clips for a Youtube video and kills that I should have got to finish a Feed, or almost getting one but "MISSING" that last shot that you needed to hit that 6 On Screen. Along with The Pellington 703 or the LW3 Tundra giving you a hitmaker on a deadset chest shot that should have killed the enemy player.
-I don't know about you but a small/maybe big deal is the time it takes to level guns in this game is insane. I got 1200+ kills with my Pellington 703 and not only was it not Max Level yet but I wasn't even to level 50 with it, which means I'm not at the unlock at 53 on the gun to get the fastest ADS which is obviously needed in Cold War as a sniper. Without regguning sometimes I only average 20 kills a game with my snipers, so it takes forever to level up. Seeing a 40 kill sniper gameplay only get maybe a half level on the gun is insanity.
-LAST BUT NOT LEAST I most definitely think when Warzone and Cold War link the guns will be OP and there is a reason behind it. Think about it if you have played the game you know the guns are so much stronger than the ones in Modern Warfare which are being used at the time. Every gun even copys from the past games are way stronger than they have ever been with a 150 HP multiplayer health. I mean look at the M16 it can kill you across map with a one body burst or even a few to the legs which is crazy. My personal belief behind this is that it's a Marketing Strategy to bring these OverPowered guns to Warzone and have all of the older guns be beat by the ones from Cold War. This will force people who enjoy winning, or Content Creators to have to go and buy the game to compete with what people are using and beating them with. Maybe I'm wrong and they will be balanced but as it stands now with the DPS thrown down that is what will happen with a straight class swap over.
So I do love the game but these are all issues and concerns I have with the game now, also with the future of this game and what Cold War converging with Warzone might look like if that is what happens get your $70 ready to buy and level guns up to win.
Please let me know what all you Beautiful people think about what I've commented on and your thoughts of the game so far and your experience playing. Have a great day and stay well, stay healthy, PEACE!!!

Personal opinion about Cold War

So of course nobody asked for it, but if anyone (highly unlikely) is reading this and is on the fence about buying it, consider some of these. I am also on PC, so keep that in mind.
Spoilers, obviously.
My initial reaction when playing my first few games was "Wow, they really did optimize this a lot better than what I thought considering how horrible the beta felt." The game really does feel smooth IMO and honestly that's something I didn't expect right out of the gate with this game considering it feels rushed. They improved a lot from the beta and they delivered especially with zombies and the campaign. However, multiplayer, at this current state, is god awful. One thing I really do like about this game though is the cross progression between consoles as well as progression with zombies and multiplayer. Especially with how hard it is to level up your guns to be able to unlock all camos and attachments its really cool that they did that. They also made some of the best camos they ever made in this game.
Multiplayer:
I'm not kidding when I say I am pretty sure this is the most unbalanced a Call of Duty game has been at launch. Modern Warfare had issues and of course still does, but I don't think it was anywhere near as bad as Cold War is right now.
Overall, I think MP is a shit show and is at best a 5/10. Horribly balanced guns, awful map rotation, and SBMM is absolutely atrocious.
Campaign:
The Campaign for Cold War is honestly really good. I thoroughly enjoyed it all the way through and even got the "evil" ending which is honestly fucked up but I also thought was really cool and creative to kind of be the bad guy and win for the other team. Shooting Woods, Mason, and Adler in the head watching a slow-mo bullet pierce their skull was honestly kinda funny and really fun to do.
Personally I think they did really well with the campaign and its honestly a 9/10. Super well-done and will definitely replay it to get the different endings in the future.
Zombies:
They absolutely NAILED this one on the head. I honestly feel like they did such a great job creating a new story and creating new mechanics and ways to enjoy your experience like never before.
With that being my own personal gripe with zombies, I definitely think zombies is another 9/10. I enjoy playing zombies the most in this game and will probably have more time in it than MP. I also think the mastery camos look better.
Final Thoughts:
All in all, this game isn't perfect nor is it a complete failure. I will say I don't think this is a $60 game. It does feel rushed and I definitely think they should have delayed the launch of this game. And one of the worst things they could've done is give Playstation players the OP bonuses just for being a PS player. Extra attachments, more 2xp AND weapon xp, and the extra zombies gamemode on top of the tier skips if they get the battle pass. They definitely went overboard with the exclusives this time around, it would've been fine if it was just the gamemode.
I have high hopes this game will improve in the future and will definitely give it more of a chance for multiplayer once they start adding in DLC and what-not. But as the game is now, I think it's a solid 7/10.

Thanks for reading my thoughts and opinions, I hope to read some of your guys thoughts as well.

Black Ope CW seems fun at first but 5 things bother me about the title and im hoping for the best but expecting the worse.

First off let me start buy saying i have been playing the game since it went live. So far i have been enjoying my time and have run into a few bumps in the road but thats to be expected as its an Alpha build and you should NOT judge a game based off its Alpha. My initial reaction is the game feels good and there is some fun to be had even though right now 1 gun seems to be outperforming everything else at least for me and thats the semi auto gun, that thing is a freakin beast. However as im enjoying the game i also am contemplating the problems with the title this year and they prevent me from jumping full on in on this years CoD.
Jus saw a post from someone who has discovered that SBMM is back in the game and has decided to skip this years CoD. So it got me thinking and i came up with 5 things that make me worried for this game as they are also 5 Reasons to skip this years call of duty and none of them are based on graphics.
  1. Its Treyarch and they are known to be the most anti consumer dev for Call of Duty so i no longer look forwards to what they do nor what they say as i know by now its all a ruse they make the game look good and a few months later they start with all their bs Anti Consumer Microtransactions and not to mention this years CoD on next gen already wants 70$ from you.
  2. The 70$ price tag, now dont get me wrong i understand why the price tag is their but in MY honest opinion i feel games like Call of Duty and any Sports game should not be allowed to be one of the titles that charge 70$ to get standard edition considering their main goal is to pull players in just to nickel and dime them every way possible and Treyarch is the worst of this scummy practice just look at past Black Ops games for example.
  3. The Development Cycle. Now by now im sure were all aware about the horrendous dev cycle this game has gone through as it was originally being worked on my Raven and Sledgehammer but they were unable to see eye to eye so not much was getting done so Activision decided to put Treyarch in the lead i believe it was either at the beginning of this year or late last year. So i fee due to this issue the game is going to look/ feel rushed have tons of issues at launch alot of mechanics are going to be broken, weapons not balanced at all, and i personally feel like they are going to just throw something together that barely works and throw it out there to bring in money from the the new consoles now coming to the market even though the game probably wont function right until next year but they wont fix it theyll blame it on covid and instead of trying to fix the game your going to hear / see nothing but Battlepasses and items come to the shop.
  4. Crossplay. While i love the whole idea behind crossplay especially for a game like CoD and at a time like this where gamers from 5 different consoles all get to play together thus increasing the life cycle of the game by an insane amount is great but given that The devs have not seem to have been able to figure out how to counter PCheats it just kills the game on arrival and thus leaves the community to turning off crossplay and being stuck to just playing with their systems ecosystem. It would be nice to have the option to leave PC players in lobbies by themselves and let us consoles get lobbies going of just Playstation Vs Xbox and really live the console wars but given that is a pipe dream as people will complain and idk why. Warzone was crazy amounts of fun when the game launched everyone was on it and it looked like it may be the next best thing but PCheaters had to ruin it as nearly all games were infected with hackers, enemies who would just stand on the highest building with an LMG and just spray people down with aim bot active and just render Warzone unplayable to the point to where many people including myself just up and left the game or disabled Crossplay. To this day i have not gone back to Warzone and after seeing a post here the other day of someone finding a website thats already getting ready to sell hacks for Black Ops Cold War i am done, i chose to not play with that community as i know not all of them are cheaters but damn man a pretty good chunk of that community have no skills outside of aimbot and wallhacks.
  5. SBMM. This is the biggest deal breaker for me as I absolutely hate the way the game is now as it is not fun to play and it seems to have forgotten what made them so big which was the ability to where after a long day at work or school you come home you turn on your console load up some call of duty maybe even have your friends get on and you just play for hours on hours not really sweating but relaxing having a good time, and since your with friends you find yourself running stupid ass class set up and doing stupid things all for the sake of having fun like running around trying to just use knives only or only get kills with tomahawks or try weapons that you normally wouldnt try. But with SBMM on and now every freakin game feels like your competing in a tournament its no longer fun you find yourself not trying crazy class set ups and instead find yourself like the rest of the community where your running the same OP set up as everyone else as its the only way to get any kills. Remember MWs M4A1 & Shotgun lobbies at launch? Not to mention if you managed to get lucky and go on a little streak and go positive and have an actual good match the game rewards you by maki g your next 5 matches being against people who basically kill you before you even spawn. This for me along with PCheats killed Modern Warfare as i like many others im sure are not trying to play CoD like its a damn tournament and theres a million dollars on the line, instead i miss the days of Black Ops 2 where i can go a few matches and just relax and not get frustrated every match or every death cus my opponent is so scared of SBMM he literally hides in corners all game just so he can try to get a single kill.
I was excited for the Alpha when it was announced as i was looking forwards to this title as i like many of you was looking to this title to write the wrongs that Modern Warfare had made. But after playing all day and infact seeing that this whole bs from MW is back coupled with the fact that its Treyarchs turn, the game seems to only have had 1 year of actual development, the price to play feels too high considering its Treyarch, and the fact that still the devs havent figured out Anti cheat software yet really makes me want to just skip out on the title. Ill hold out final judgements for the beta though as thats when well be able to test their crossplay. I hope the game fixes all the problems im worried about and again i hope it becomes the best CoD to date.
And those of you who do what i cant and thats stick with CoD through Thick and thin more power to you guys man your the real MVPs since your the ones that buy CoD every year continuously hoping for atleast a decent game and every time seem to have been let down. More power to you especially those who are Ride or Die Treyarch fans cus you guys know what its like to continuously get fucked by Treyarch and yet you still go back to them and still buy their Microtransactions and lootboxes.
I miss the old days of Call of Duty. Really wish there was a Black Ops or Black Ops 2 Remaster cus this game? Although it can be crazy fun it just feels off. Those of you who are going to continue to support Activision regardless i hope you guys get a really good game with this years call of duty. Would love nothing more than for CoD to get back to what it used to be. Also i like the theme of Cold War but idk if im going to want to see Unicorn Guns and giants ass pink rabbits running around multiplayer.
Do you agree with any of this? Have anything to add? How are you liking the Alpha so far?
Side Note : I do Not mean to offend anyone so please do not take anything i say as a personal attack i do not know you how can i attack you personally? I am not calling any type of fan out at all in this post i am simply like you a Gamer, someone who has Loved Call of Duty through thick and thin since the OG Black Ops in 2010 but also because i love this series so much i know what its like to get burned.
TLDR: I am enjoying the Alpha so far and i 100% understand that you cannot and should not judge the game based on the Alpha. I have been a CoD fan for 10 years and in those 10 years i have learned that there are things i this series that never gets fixed yet seems to get worse and this time around the problems seem to me at least to be too much. There are 5 things that worry me about the game and may turn me off from it entirely that being 1. Treyarch are the Devs on this, 2. The 70$ price tag for next gen, 3. The Dev Cycle, 4. Crossplay, and 5. SBMM.

Its annoying how the console mouse and keyboard parasites will benefit the most from the sights and reticle changes.

Uh oh... another mouse and keyboard rant.
Its literally at a stage now where theres at least one mouse and keyboard player every other game and for some people every single game. This is ridiculous and I cant believe these people have no concept of how much damage they have done to this game whilst simply taking and taking and not giving back.
In my opinion the average MnK user is someone that is heavily invested in siege but hit a plateau where they werent getting better and were tired of getting destroyed. A proverbial "quitter" if you will. Instead of perseverance and improvement they choose the easy road. Which in this case is to have x piece of equipment that other players dont have which gives them an advantage.
Along the way some moron came up with the concept that "it's ok because EVERYONE else is doing it" much like in the modern warfare community someone came up with the "Adapt" saying and for whatever reason people latch onto these things for dear life to try excuse shitty behaviour that they know is shitty.
Here we are with even influential youtubers like Evan Braddock saying "dont blame mouse and keyboard users on console, they are doing it just to compete with all the others" which dont be fooled, just because you've got thousands of YouTube subscribers doesnt mean you are right. A spade is a spade and a loser is a loser and if you are using a mouse and keyboard on a console in a game that has it natively disabled and ubi have stated it is cheating then you are a cheating loser.
I dont sweat it too much as deep down as soon as you see the movement in game and the mouse shake you know you can just write them off because nobody like that loves themself more than themself. Lemme put it to you this way. Do you know sometimes in game when you are in a 1v1 or just facing off against someone and you die or lose and you just arent mad because you got outplayed and you think "oh wow I can use and learn from that, I'm actually not that mad" and you sort of respect that player a bit more?
Well let me tell you that as controller player if we are ever killed by MnK those kind of thoughts are never present. You never garner respect. You are simply wasting the time of a controller player, stuck in a lobby with your that they cant get out of because they have to play it out because unlike you people they dont "quit" and take the easy road. They just persist and see it through.
Dont get me wrong ubi doesnt really want to do anything about you. As a mouse and keyboard player your performance in game will be better and you will most likely win more games, thus increasing rank and therefore you perceive yourself as a better or above average player. You then are more likely to buy from the store elite skins etc. Or make smurfs but you cant be on a smurf with no ops so yanoo might have to put your hand in your pocket for the r6 credits to buy some operators to shorten the grind. As long as you are doing your bullshit ubi are making money and why would any company want to neuter a source of that.
I believe that by this point had those people not moved to mouse and keyboard they would have undoubtedly seen an improvement in their own performance by now. However these children or man-boys latched onto an excuse and ran with it and it speaks volumes about their real life personality. If you go out of your way to exploit and not play fairly in video games, the most harmless and universally enjoyed pastime in the modern day, without a shadow of a doubt that scummy shit will bleed into how you navigate real life and deal with real life situations. It's only logical if you cant do the right thing with something as unimportant as video games you are shit out of luck when it comes to life.
I just had to get this off my chest. It wont really change anything but if any MnK players were under the assumption they werent I just wanted to make sure they knew how beta they are with their almost unaware and unavoidable admission of weakness and how they couldn't cope.
Controller players keep at it, persist because myself and many other just want fair games, at this point there is a lot of respect for controller players so you are at an advantage anyway in terms of peer support. It's a team game and a community game, play with like minded people that want you in their games and know your role. Dont be disheartened when you get 360 no scoped by some kid with a mouse. It's the only thing they've got some sort of control of in their life. Move onto the next and dont contribute to what is ruining the console experience, if everyone is a winner, no-one is a winner.

Causes of ram issues?

This may or not be a stupid question, but can a specific game/program damage ram? Im not talking about viruses or anything, just regular software.
The reason i ask is because i started playing ksp again recently, and after a few days it started crashing all the time. I then ran hci memtest or something, i cant remember the exact name, but i returned 2 errors.
I had to replace the ram, and fortunately, amazon took it back for a refund, and i bought some more. Ksp ran fine then, no crashes, at least for a few days. Now its started crashing again, not as frequently, as it was before, but it didnt crash once in the first few days, so crashing at all is beginning to concern me. I havent ran a memore test yet, but i may have to again soon.
It didnt affect other game, which tbh i dont play many of, modern warfare and black ops cold war beta didnt crash or have any problems as far as k could tell, though i didnt play them anywhere near as long as ksp.
So if ksp is causing issues with my ram, what can i do about it?

What to expect E3 2019

Xbox: Xbox will almost 100% be showing off their brand new next-gen console at their E3 presentation this year. Alongside that it is very likely we will see Halo Infinite game-play as well as more news about the Halo MCC pc port which will likely have its Reach edition released in some form within the next few months. We may see Cyberpunk 2077 game play as well as a release date during the Xbox panel as well considering this occurred last year. Outer Worlds may have a gameplay trailer of some sort within the presentation. Finally we will likely begin to see Microsoft's studio acquisitions take form in some way as there have been rumblings for some time that we will at the very least see one brand new IP shown. Project X-Cloud may appear, for those who dont know Project X-Cloud is a cloud gaming program from Microsoft.

Nintendo: Nintendo will NOT show anything game-play related for Metroid Prime 4 considering they stated in a Nintendo direct a few months ago that they will be fully rebooting the game as they didn't like the way it was panning out. We will also likely see the next Smash dlc character as well as something related to Fire Emblem. Other games to look forward to are the recently announced games such as Super Mario Maker 2, Pokemon Sword & Shield, and Animal Crossing. It is possible that we hear something Zelda related however it is fair to point out that this part is all speculation due to a job listing. We can also perhaps here more about the Links Awakening Remake as well as Luigi's Mansion.

PlayStation: No show at E3 but this doesn't mean we cant see a PlayStation live stream with announcements outside of E3 however this is unlikely. Could hear more from TLOU2 and Ghosts of Tsishima.
Update: The Last of Us 2 seems like it may have some form of news shown prior to E3 with the possibility of an official PS5 reveal in order to get a jump start on Xbox. This seems likely as just handing E3 to Microsoft is not a great business nor consumer relations decision.

Ubisoft: Just Dance, Beyond Good and Evil 2, and Skull and Bones are all very likely to appear at E3 with BGE2 looking all but certain to appear. It is possible we will get release dates on all three of these games however it is extremely unlikely Beyond Good and Evil 2 is released this year especially considering the fact that it has been stated that the game wont even have a beta until the end of this year. Splinter Cell is likely to appear in some form during this E3 however it is possible it appears earlier due to a Ghost Recon Wildlands easter egg pointing towards something being shown on May 9th. Finally there is the "leaked" Assassins Creed game which is claimed to be taking place during the age of Vikings.
Update: It is actually looking more likely the easter egg is hinting at a Wildlands 2 instead of Splinter Cell

Square Enix: Before anyone gets extremely excited about the possibility of Final Fantasy 7 remake appearing it is important to point out that Tetsuya Numura the game director of Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy 7 remake only recently finished Kingdom Hearts 3 so it is unlikely we see anything outside of maybe a teaser, However it is not impossible we see something more considering the fact that Numura stated both games had been getting equal attention. It is also possible we see or get info regarding the Avengers Project which was announced back in 2017 however as of now there has been nothing to point towards a reveal occurring outside of Square Enix taking the main stage. One game however that is very likely to appear during this conference is Babylon's Fall which is Platinum Games newest IP that was revealed during last years E3.

Bethesda: ES6 and Starfield... there is no way we see anything more then cinematic trailers especially considering the fact that Todd Howard himself stated they were breaking the mold last year and showing those two games WAY earlier then usual. Doom Eternal has been confirmed to appear.

PC Gaming Show: This one is a big coin flip. We will mostly see updates and or new releases for indie titles. There is the possibility we get updates on other games such as Age of Wonders: Planetfall and official announcements of games such as Total War Warhammer 3. Scavengers, Bee Simulator, and The Sinking City will each most certainly be appearing at this panel. For those asking if Valve will be here... the chances of that are very minuscule. The only reason they would show up which chances are they wont will be to show off their new VR tech and/or update everyone on Artifact and pray it brings back the player base. World War Z could show up however there is nothing out there to support this at the moment.

EA Play: FIFA 20, Madden, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and updates on released games such as Battlefront 2 and Battlefield 5. Very unlikely there are many big surprises here but its possible we see another Command and Conquer game. (Yes Im hoping its not mobile as well). Will also more then likely get more updates on Anthem as a last ditch attempt to save the game.

For those wondering, the companies above are simply the ones that have panels during E3, there will be plenty of others at E3 but these ones will have the most focus on them.

Confirmed Games without Confirmed Panels
Doom Eternal
Scavengers
Bee Simulator
Cyberpunk 2077 (Very likely to appear during Microsoft panel)
Dying Light 2
Borderlands 3
The Sinking City
Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

This will be updated as time goes on to include a list of games rumored to be coming to E3 as well as games confirmed to NOT be appearing during E3 this year. Anything found to be false and/or not cited here please inform me and changes will be made on the spot. Enjoy.

Lots of unknowns this year and strong possibility at multiple new IPs being announced throughout each of the panels

Rumored:
Avengers Project
Ancestors Human Odyssey
Darkborn
Elder Scrolls Blades
Fortnite
Outer Wilds
Gears Tactics
Tunic
Wolfenstein YoungBlood
DC Suicide Squad game inspired by The Division and Destiny. If true it will be a Live Service game with a focus on loot.
Dragon Age 4: Highly unlikely to appear following the Anthem fiasco
Monolith may have some form of presence at E3
Possible new Batman game, perhaps a part of the Arkham universe
Possible new Rocksteady Single player game
Session
Gears 5
Control
Xbox and Nintendo are rumored to be teaming up in some way. The rumor mill states that Xbox will be bringing the Xbox game pass to the switch.
Death Stranding
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
COD Modern Warfare 4
WatchDogs 3
Street Fighter VI
Ubisoft's Avatar Game
Dino Crisis Remake
Fable IV
Bayonetta 3
Battletoads
Dishonored 3
Nier Automata 2 (extremely unlikely due to dev stating it wont happen but who knows)
Total War Warhammer 3
Harry Potter AAA game leaked last year
Rumblings of a Superman/Supergirl based game have been floating for some time now but there is no news whatsoever on whether it will appear or not.
Sea of Solitude
There has been talk for some time of a possible Game of Thrones AAA game so its possible however unlikely we hear anything about it this year at least
Rumblings of an Injustice/Mortal Kombat crossover however it is much more likely we see an Injustice 3 before this happens considering how many story threads are left open at the end of 2
The Outer Worlds
Resident Evil 3 Remake
Astral Chain
Monster Hunter World
Evil Within 3
Perfect Dark
Battlefront 2 will likely be showing off new characters and maps. New characters have been long rumored to be Ahsoka Tano and Cad Bane.
For Honor

The Harry Potter game, Sea of Solitude, Monster Hunter World, Astral Chain, Battletoads, Jedi: Fallen Order, Watchdogs 3, Fortnite, The Outer Worlds are all games with lots of evidence pointing towards appearances at E3 this year. They are simply here however due to no official confirmation so far, at least that I have seen.

Unfortunately we will not be seeing the Uncharted creator Amy Hennings Star Wars game as that was cancelled. We may see some Star Wars the Old Republic news but most of the cool stuff outside Jedi: Fallen Order appears to have been cancelled. This includes project ragtag, and the rumored Ahsoka Tano led Star Wars game. Star Wars 1313 will NOT be showing up unless some miracle comes by.

Update: Call of Duty just officially announced in an investors call we will see the next Call of Duty no later then the end of June.

Update 2: Astral Chain added to the list of rumored games. Sorry guys, must have missed it!

Update 3: Regarding Bloodborne 2 it may be moved to No Chance not because it cant be being made but because From Software is known to show off their games with Playstation, which will not be appearing this year.

Update 4: Jedi:Fallen Order has been confirmed for an E3 appearance via twitter. Credit for this goes to u/Trojanbp for pointing it out.

No Chance: Injustice 3
Battlefront 3 (Dice stated within the Battlefront discord that they arent working on anything Star Wars related outside of Battlefront 2)
Bloodborne 2

E3 schedule
EA Play: June 7-9 no confirmed time
Bethesda: June 9th, 8:30 PM ET
Microsoft: June 9th, 4 PM ET
PC Gaming Show: June 10th, 1 PM ET
Ubisoft: June 10th, 4 PM ET
Square Enix, June 10th, 9 PM ET

Edit: I apologize for the confusion. I have changed the schedule to accurately reflect when each panel will be and I have removed games that were placed under confirmed when they in fact were not. Once again my bad!

Edit 2: This list will be updated constantly up to the official E3 week. Will try to stay up to date with the news but as stated if there is anything wrong please let me know!

Edit 3: There is next to no chance Blizzard shows up at E3, they tend to avoid it entirely and considering they just stated they wont be at Gamescom chances are we wont see anything Blizzard related until Blizzcon

Edit 4: For those asking about The Last of Us 2 it looks like we may be seeing something new just before E3 if new reports are to be believed. As seen here https://www.techradar.com/news/it-looks-like-well-be-seeing-more-of-the-last-of-us-part-2-before-e3 it looks like we may get at the very least some sort of news before E3

Edit 5: I would also recommend people keep an eye on sites such as Walmart Canada and Amazon as they are known to leak games ahead of their release.

(Beta) *Complete Guide of all of the Guns, Equipment, Killstreaks, and so on in Modern Warfare MP

The purpose of this post is to accumulate all confirmed information about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Not only does it keep all information available in one place, but it can also help as a benchmark to compare how the game changes and balances throughout its development. If I miss and/or get any information wrong, let me know so I can add or fix it.
Additionally, this list only contains things that we have seen thus far. That does not mean this is the only stuff that will be in the game. Like we've seen with the Alpha, not all content will be available in game in the beta. So if you don't see a certain weapon, a certain gamemode, or anything else like that, it doesn't mean it will not be there later on.
*Not complete yet, but on its way there ;)

Changes from pre-alpha to beta

Weapons

Assault Rifles

SMGs

Shotguns

LMGs

Marksmen Rifle

Sniper Rifles

Handguns

Launchers

Melee

Attachments

This is an overall look at the available attachments in game. Not all attachments are available for all guns, and some attachments are available for only one gun (i.e. weapon conversion kits). Seeing the pure scale of available attachments, it's possible that the same attachment could see slight performance changes between weapons.
Additionally, the amount of +/- there are next to a modifier(s) in the pros/cons relates to how significant of an impact that modifier has. So for example, an attachment that has the Pros of ++Hipfire Accuracy (tighter bullet spread while shooting from the hip) will give better hipfire accuracy than an attachment that has the Pros +Hipfire Accuracy. The same works for Cons. An attachment that has Cons of --Movement Speed will make you move slower than an attachment that has Cons of -Movement Speed. A caveat to that is that in the pre-alpha gameplay that many gaming social media influencers played back in April, some attachments had weapon descriptions that did not match the listed pros and cons. These could have been fixed for the beta, however.

Side note: Night maps will *require night-vision goggles to be used in order to be effectively played. Without them, many areas of a map can and will look pitch black. While using the night-vision goggles, the players ability to ADS is limited. Many guns will not let you use normal optics to ADS. Some guns/situations that can be ADS-ed with are pistols and weapons with elevated optics(?). Rather, when trying to ADS, your character will hold his gun as an angle and a laser sight will be active. This laser sight will help you aim your weapons more effectively. As well, players on the enemy team can see these lasers while they are active.

Big Maps

Big maps are part of the Ground War playlist, and are only available to play with +20v20. These big maps feature vehicles such as ATVs, helicopters, APCs, the drivable tank killstreak, and more. Additionally, we've seen that gamemodes are adjusted for the bigger map. Domination is changed from 3 capture points to 5 capture points. It is currently unknown what other gamemodes are available for Ground War and how they will be adjusted.

My Tarkov Graphic settings are:

[BFV] Difference of attitudes, 2016: "treat the World War 1 era with the respect and sensitivity" 2018: "We will always put fun over authentic" and media's willful misrepresentation over Battlefield V

This is a crosspost from my original thread in KotakuInAction, edited to comply with this sub's rules. If necessary, tell me what I need to change, or what isn't allowed, thanks.

>Dean Takahashi, Venturebeat, May 6, 2016: EA DICE’s lead designer answers our questions about Battlefield 1
>GamesBeat: What’s your position on the project?
>Daniel Berlin: I’m lead game designer.
>GamesBeat: When things started leaking a bit, people were positioning this as an alternate history of World War One. Is there any alternate history to this, or is it purely historical?
>Berlin: It’s definitely rooted in history. There’s no alternate mix of anything else. All the stuff you see is equipment that was available. All the vehicles you see were available at this time.
>GamesBeat: No time travel?
>Berlin: No time travel. This is our depiction through a modern lens, looking at World War One, the Great War.
>GamesBeat: How many concessions do you have to make for the sake of gameplay? Back then tanks were extremely slow, and they didn’t come in until 1917. Reloading took a while. Lots of things would bog down the pace of the battle.
>Berlin: Like I say, for us gameplay is king. We need to make sure the vehicles and weapons are fun to use. With the variety of stuff that’s available, we can push and keep the pace you see in previous Battlefield games. We can also deliver the kind of rock-paper-scissor gameplay you’re familiar with. It’s a good fit. I know that’s surprising to a lot of people, but it’s been so fun to be on this journey and learn so much.

>Matt Purslow, pcgamesn, 14 Jun 2016: Battlefield 1 scrapped female soldiers because boys don’t believe in them, says ex-DICE coder
>Update 13 Jun, 2016: Dice have since confirmed that the game will feature a female protagonist in the female campaign in an interview with Eurogamer. Creative director Lars Gustavsson stated in no uncertain terms regarding female soldiers in Battlefield 1’s multiplayer “No, not in multiplayer. Just in single-player.”
>She went on to tweet that DICE eventually explained to her that the real reason for female soldiers being withdrawn from the game was that the core audience of boys could believe that the way tanks and parachutes in the game worked was accurate, but couldn’t believe that women soldiers were.
>That, combined with the added expense of creating new models and voices for women soldiers would make the game pricey, apparently.
>Coget believes this choice is down to DICE making an assumption about their audience and what’s “credible”.

>Samit Sarkar, Polygon, Oct 31, 2016: EA turns horrors of WWI into tone-deaf Battlefield 1 memes, quickly deletes them (update)
>Maybe don’t put a hashtag on World War I
>Battlefield 1 publisher Electronic Arts — and specifically, the game’s social media team — is under fire today for a tasteless marketing campaign in which the series’ Twitter account came off as glorifying the First World War to sell a video game.
>EA has since deleted the three tweets in question, which used the hashtag #justWWIthings alongside meme-worthy phrases such as “weekend goals” and GIFs containing violent images from Battlefield 1.
>The game, which is set during World War I, was released earlier this month.
>Both of those tweets have gone viral this morning, even after EA deleted them. If you search that hashtag on Twitter right now, you’ll see plenty of people lambasting EA for the marketing campaign.
>This also isn’t the first time that EA has deleted an insensitive Battlefield 1-related marketing tweet. Peter Moore, EA’s chief competition officer, tweeted a photo of himself in a Battlefield 1 onesie last week, saying that “trench warfare requires specialty equipment and clothing.” The garment, said Moore, includes “pockets for melee weapons and Doritos.”
>World War I, which lasted from 1914 to 1918, involved about two dozen nations; estimates put the casualty totals at more than 37 million soldiers and over 7 million civilians, including more than 8.5 million military personnel killed in action.
>Update: An EA representative provided Polygon with the following statement regarding the #justWWIthings campaign: “We would like to apologize for any offense caused by content in the last 24 hours posted on the @Battlefield Twitter account. It did not treat the World War 1 era with the respect and sensitivity that we have strived to maintain with the game and our communications.”
https://archive.fo/r5JjL
>Jordan Forward, pcgamesn, 25 April 2017: Battlefield 1 and how to treat war with respect in videogames
>Whether to venerate or deplore the struggles of the over 70 million military personnel who were mobilised during World War One is an impossible conundrum.
>... Biplanes zipping around like X-wings, a dubstep remix of Seven Nation Army, men battering each other with shovels and someone being engulfed by a cloud of mustard gas. It’s a nightmarish cavalcade of tactlessness - one that’s so far removed from the reality of that conflict that for DICE to claim any semblance of authenticity to it should be out of the question.
>Then there’s Valiant Hearts, ... still being one of the most thoughtful, affecting and uplifting war games ever made. Without a combat mechanic to speak of, Valiant Hearts gives two perspectives of the war and in each one chooses to focus on the human tragedy of it rather than the battlefield experience.
>It’s a similar approach to the one adopted by This War of Mine developers 11 bit Studios. Senior writer Pawel Miechowski tells me about how his team approached the Balkans War...
>“I think the entirety of pop culture trivialises war. On the one hand it's a very thrilling topic, on the other hand, we see it from a distance and forget how horrible an event war is. In the end it somehow happened that as a prolongation of that, pop culture trivialised war. It's happened to a bigger extent in gaming, because at some point war and fighting became a dominant topic. For that, This War of Mine can be considered an antidote, because we presented war in the serious tonality that it deserves.”
>Battlefield 1 appears to be heavily drawing on both of those themes, but in doing so DICE are bastardising the reality of the war.
>Taking some historical liberties is fine, and nobody would expect or want a First World War Battlefield game to rigidly adhere to fact.
>Then DICE announced Elite classes - think jacked-up, armour-clad knights of yore, wielding 40-pound machine guns while striding around the battlefield like Darth Vader on ‘roids - and any notion that this was to be a remotely respectful take on the conflict vanishes amidst the premise of players being able to turn the tide of battle by spawning in as a special trooper. As DICE tactlessly put it in their Elite classes announcement post - “Not every soldier is created equally.”
>It’s important not to ignore the elephant in the room: gaming is a form of entertainment. So however uncomfortable Battlefield 1’s approach to World War One might make us, it is just a game, and from what we’ve seen of it, a good game. The problem is that cherry-picking the best bits of a global tragedy just leaves a sour taste in the mouth. And that’s how we remember the First World War, as a global tragedy.
>From Call of Duty to Wolfenstein, developers haven’t struggled with creating a tasteful war story because they’ve always had a unanimously despised enemy.
>Even hugely successful mainstream franchises like Call of Duty and Medal of Honour managed to find a respectful tone in their games within the most life-consuming conflict in history.
>World War One has no particular filmic legacy to rely on. Likewise, it still strikes an emotional chord with many because it hasn’t had a buffer of media to desensitise audiences to its reality. There’s nothing inherently wrong with Battlefield 1’s choice of setting, although the inclusion of mustard gas grenades - chemical weapons being a war crime and all - is questionable to say the least.

>Nick Statt, The Verge, May 6, 2016: Everything we know about the WWI-themed Battlefield 1
>Battlefield 1942 established the franchise’s interest in expansive, real-world conflicts. And its commitment to historical accuracy built upon the popular WWII shooters of that era. So Battlefield 1 is meant to harken back to those glory days. It's the fifth main Battlefield game, but it's set during the first global conflict of the modern age. Game makers aren't known for taking risky leaps when it comes to branding, so it's a surprise to see EA taking a leap with one of its most celebrated series.
>It's not steampunk-themed or set in alternate history
>When Battlefield 1 leaked earlier today, people saw a cape-clad soldier in front of a giant zeppelin plastered across the backdrop. At first glance, it seemed EA was drawing influence from Bioshock Infinite by giving its early 20th century shooter a steampunk vibe that would lean heavy on airships and reimagined industrial technology.
>Yet EA says the game is drawing from honest historical events. The Germans really did do zeppelin bomb raids, and horses and tanks coexisted on the Western Front. Sure, there was rudimentary hand-to-hand combat and trench warfare, but WWI was also the first major conflict to feature complex air and ground vehicles. EA says designing a game around WWI is a lesson in contrast, and we can see that in Battlefield 1's first trailer.
https://archive.fo/AIZg9
>T.C. Sottek, The Verge, Sep 2, 2016: I wanted to quit Battlefield games forever until I played Battlefield 1
>Shot through the heart, and it feels great
>Naturally, Battlefield 1 doesn't have years of rooting for Luke Skywalker and Han Solo behind it, but it does have a rich historical character unlike generic near-future shooter clones. It feels like you're taking part in something authentic, even though it's exceptionally weird and cartoonish at times. But that weirdness makes it feel special. I can't think of another game that lets you strafe horses in biplanes, wear steel armor while firing a machine gun from the hip, or blast enemies from an armored train — yet these are all things you can do in the same round of Battlefield 1, and this is just the beta. I can't wait to see what happens when massive zeppelins and other weird weapons of war are added to the mix.
Funnily enough, the developers, media, and gamers ALL agreed that BF:1 should have some level of authenticity. Everyone agreed.
So would be quite reasonable to assume that the next Battlefield, set in WW2, would build upon BF:1's claim of at least some "commitment to historical accuracy" (Nick Statt, The Verge, May 6, 2016: Everything we know about the WWI-themed Battlefield 1) and "respect and sensitivity" (EA representative statement to Polygon, Samit Sarkar, Polygon, Oct 31, 2016: EA turns horrors of WWI into tone-deaf Battlefield 1 memes, quickly deletes them (update) ).
"We want historical accuracy" is essentially the same demand from Battlefield 1, carried over to Battlefield V. The media of that time supported this. Still reasonable, yes?
Now add a woman to the trailer, and "we want historical accuracy" becomes "Actually, I'm a misogynist!!!"
The same statement, framed with a different presentation, has morphed into an entirely different statement.
You'd think a journalist is supposed to report accurately on a fanbase's opinions, minimize controversies, and promote mutual understanding for the benefit of everyone involved.
https://archive.fo/tHRLt
>Megan Farokhmanesh, The Verge, May 24, 2018: Battlefield V fans who failed history are mad that the game has women in it
>Has anyone here read a book?
>Online, this infantile cry has rallied around its own hashtag — #NotMyBattlefield — and it is full of users shrieking about political correctness.
>This ugly, familiar line of thinking reared its head before when DICE dared to put a black man on the cover of Battlefield 1. #NotMyBattlefield is more of the same, a chance for these angry contingents to push against what they view as a bastardization of the series. But as the hashtag itself says, it’s not theirs. Battlefield V is yet another example of a game, a movie, a TV show, a cultural touchpoint that young, angry white men want to claim as their own. Fans have no ownership over the things they love. Battlefield players don’t get to decide what belongs or doesn’t belong in Battlefield V. As executive producer Aleksander Grøndal said on Twitter, “We will always put fun over authentic.”
A journalist, promoting mutual understanding? Of course not.
Don't mention the frequently-asked question of "Is BF:V going to be less serious?", don't mention "Why is the trailer such a confusing mess?"

>Erik Kain (that one guy with a different opinion in a sea of "omg the MISOGYNY" articles), Forbes, May 23, 2018: This 'Battlefield 5' Reveal Trailer Has Me More Confused Than Hyped
>By the end of the event, I'm more confused than ever.
>Okay, so I've watched this a few times, and I have to say...I have no clue what's going on. It's absolutely stunning. Graphically it's one of the most gorgeous looking games I've ever seen.
>Is this supposed to be a big, goofy take on WWII? Is this supposed to be a Bad Company style game that doesn't take itself seriously? Or is the vast, immersive, serious-sounding version of the Great War that the developers made it sound like in the reveal presentation?
>I think if this was being marketed as a purposefully outlandish or steampunk version of WWII I'd be more excited. A full-on steampunk WWII setting in Frostbite 3 with epic battles, zeppelins and mecha-limbs would be incredible. Right now, though, I'm just not sure what it is we just witnessed. And I'm not sure how to feel about this game at all.

>>"Ryan, do you have any specific way you want players to see this Battlefield? Well I think the best thing we can describe it is immersive, I mean this needs to feel like the most immersive Battlefield that the players have ever played...", "...it's really about giving players the most immersive world to get into, and you should really be grounded in it..."
>>... they were beating around the bush at every single opportunity. You couldn't garner any useful information from the entirety of the reveal as well as the trailer ...
https://youtu.be/8oKruNB5XiE?t=246
>>... if you saw the reveal of Battlefield V, you saw what phrase these guys kept saying over and over, that Battlefield V is "the most authentic and immersive Battlefield game yet". Seconds later our fantastically awesome yet very strange trailer containing things that are so over-the-top absurd ridiculous and out of place was played...
>>... (the) spectacle seemed a bit out of place in the world of "authenticity" and "immersion" as they say. Just what is EA and DICE going for?
So I wrote elsewhere that with "Immersive", "grounded" and "authentic" bandied about by the devs, the trailer felt confusing for many, and for me, the BF:V reveal trailer's confusing, absurdist, fast-paced Michael Bay tone with one-handed powersliding machinegun hipfire, which looks similar to when the Call of Duty franchise jumped the shark during Modern Warfare 2.
And that is Very Bad.
Battlefield V's reveal trailer looks like a caricature of Battlefield, looking more like a parody instead of Battlefield! And if doesn't make your ass clench in worry, I don't know what to tell you. Mine is.
But Battlefield 1's reveal trailer was well-received (2.2M/43K like/dislike), and it kept some of BF:V's fast pace and "unrealistic epic EXPLOSIONS" moments, but Battlefield V's reveal trailer is at 247K/241K like/dislike, so wtf is going on?
Yet the media only bothered to ONLY highlight, ONLY the misogyny angle, and FAILS to mention literally every other point brought up by, as I saw and wanted to highlight, by quite a few fans.
So where is THAT part of the conversation? What are the journalists doing, hello?!?!
https://web.archive.org/web/20180524175153/https://www.vg247.com/2018/05/24/battlefield-5-women-bothers-please-piss-off/

>Don’t give us that “historically accurate” crap either. You can’t hide your small-minded misogyny behind it.

What, minimize controversies? A media outlet is just like Twitter, so a journalist's job is to misrepresent, insult, and demonize people and exacerbate controversies for clicks!
Just focus on that ONE angle instead: "WOW LOOK AT THAT MISOGYNY!" And stop bothering to look deeper! The sentiments mentioned above definitely never existed!
"Great power, zero responsibility" - this is journalism!
And don't even bother to remember issues from just 2 years ago!

A simple idea "whether a war game should be more realistic", after losing it's popularity as a cultural zeitgeist, an totally "innocent and academic question" (theoretically), is to be thrown away and mocked once it's gone out of favor. Hmmmmmm!
Forget "giving a voice to the voiceless and speaking truth to power", journalism is about "being a lazy, predatory bully, and exacerbating controversies, because screw decency and principles, I can't give a shit!"
More journo hot takes are collected here: https://www.reddit.com/KotakuInAction/comments/8lv6m9/battlefield_v_the_people_complaining_about_a/
Does anyone really don't want women?
AFAIK, nobody was butthurt over the female singleplayer protagonist in BF:1. Why? Perhaps, maybe because it was presented well, so nobody cared?!
I've seen comments that stress that they aren't hating it just because a woman was added, so surely the actual underlying reason is "to sell the idea better". BF:V's awful trailer, DICE's AWeSOmE tweets, and journos being worthless as usual - is worsening the issue to nobody's benefit.
Pro-diversity people are fighting fantastical enemies that don't truly exist (maybe they're happy about that, who knows), and the imperious response from devs and media, only causes detractors to reject all "diversity" issues out of hand, because they were treated like shit the first time round. Good fucking job.
Again, people didn't like Captain Hook because she's the most obvious of the trailer's Fortnite-like tone, which, to this day, still isn't explained.
Looking Deeper: wtf is EA/DICE doing with their communications:
If you notice, AFAIK, the only devs that revealed game details were only in youtube interviews.

So are Oskar Gabrielson and Aleksander Grøndal‏ telling me that "3 men on a horse" is normal, and I should expect BF:V to be a hot glitchy mess as a feature...? :O
With BF:1, lead game designer Daniel Berlin had an interview with VentureBeat, as noted above. And that info is searchable.
With BF:V useful info is confined to 30min youtube video interviews. Media interviews are missing, and you cannot search videos!
Perhaps DICE limiting interviews to youtube, is going direct to their fanbase, which is a good idea, in theory. And Twitter hot takes are produced for everything else, which is a good idea in theory, since executive producers and general managers are also supposed to helm the marketing mumbo jumbo side of the business.
But, you can't search videos! And they're really long, so if there's any GOOD info, it's BURIED so nobody will see it. And the Twitter takes, piss people off!
So who is right, Oskar Gabrielson and Aleksander Grøndal on Twitter, and the willfully misrepresented media articles that everyone loathes? Or Dan Berlin and Lars on youtube?
This is a communications fuckup.
GAME THEORY, is EA/DICE's responses so far accidental or intentional?
Let's discount the journalists, whom as we have seen, cannot care less.
Now let's look at the dev's communications fuckup, with some guesswork, a theory, a GAME THEORY:

I firmly believe that if many of the older maps we grew to love were released this year, they would get hated on.

When I played the beta this year, it REALLY brought back old school CoD4/MW2 vibes as far as the maps. I think if we are honest with ourselves and try to imagine some of those maps being released in Modern Warfare 2019, there would be a lot of complaining about them, but back then we were just having fun.
Karachi would be touted as a campers playground (like it was) and too much verticality, too many little spots to check, etc.
Overgrown, Wasteland, Rundown, Underpass would all be too many places to lay prone and hide in the grass
Skid Row would be whoever gets setup in the power positions wins the map
Estate is same thing, whoever controls the house wins and everyone would complain that it's not fun
Bloc is just 2 buildings and cant even use the middle of the map or you get sniped
I can think of a reason why most of the beloved maps we cherish would be hated on today. But back then we were just having fun! We just let it be what it was and played with it and learned the maps and different playstyles required for each layout and we just. had. FUN. Even though we had claymores, model 1887s, easy quick scoping Intervention, OMA noob tubes, last stand, heartbeat sensor, basically getting a nuke from a 7 killstreak and the list goes on and on...
But we didnt care. We just allowed it to be what it was and we had a blast. I'm having a blast with Modern Warfare this year and I hope you guys will join me :)

I quit. This game is over for me

That is it. Im done. i played the game all throughout the beta getting max level. Pre ordered the most expensive edition was active on reddit and youtube and twitch consuming all MW media. But now they dont fix it. This game is so close to being good, especially on pc. The cpu is always over 80 percent and everytime I tab out, change fullscreen to something else the game crashes. I cant have my recording software open, discord or spotify. why add seasons to a game that lasts about a year and make it so hard to play. the campers and tank users is on a whole new level and I loved black ops 4 and it is a way better game. it has no jetpack and so many ways to counter camping like killing through walls with abilities and what not. Crash pissed me off so much from the campers and when people on my team leave i never get new teamates. I will still watch youtube videos as the make the game look like how it should sometimes. JUST WHY SEASONS and so much challanges like if you dont play the game 24 7 you dont get anything or your moneys worth we have jobs school and friends and other games to play no time to grind battle pass the challanges AND officer ranks. how many seasons will there be? 3,4 or 5? by the end of the year all this grind would not be worth it and be gone. i quit the game after all this i spent into it. No matter what they fix or change it will never live up to the hype. They ruined another cod again what a surpise im so stupid for thinking things would be different. Goodbye Cod and I swear i will never buy another cod ever no matter what i been playing since Cod 1 now im gone thats it. They ruined modern warfare my fav series and they cant do anything to fix what they did.

Constant crashes, freezes on PC. Literally unplayable.

Another year, another garbage PC version.
My experience with Modern Warfare so far:
  1. Unpredictable game freezes. It is not crashing, it is just freezing, I cant close it, I cant play it. The only way is to kill process in the task manager.
  2. Unpredictable crashes. Boom! Desktop. Bravo six going dark? Is that it?
  3. Loading the level during campaign cutscenes makes them literally impossible to watch. FPS is getting far low beyond 30. And there is slight lip/voice desync.
The game is literally unplayable. This is AAA title developer, who put their game through massive BETA test and still failed to deliver at least PLAYABLE GAME.
I'm not even talking about balance issues and other gameplay problems, because I simply CANT PLAY YOUR GAME.

Game does not start

What up guys, I just downloaded the Modern Warfare Beta for PC on the Blizzard launcher and installed it. But I cant seem to get this game running. After quickscoping the "Play" button it gets opaque and the text changes to "Game running" like it's supposed to. But the game does not start. After aprox. 30 seconds the "Play button" just returns to its original state. Without any Error message, and my CPU/RAM/whatever are chilling on single digit percentages...
I already tried rebooting the launcher and my PC. I used the "repair corrupt game files" option and updated my GPU Drivers. Nothing changed. Could it be my weak PC? Its fairly outdated and may not meet the minimum reqs. But I'm not sure. Anybody with similar problems or solutions? Thx

Lvl 43 former R6:Siege player opinion and how the game changes my playstyle

Quick pre-info: I didn't play or buy any CoD since Black Ops 2, my main shooter was Rainbow Six Siege for the last 2,5 years and with it you would think i have experience with some kind of "slow and "tactical" gameplay.
First the Pros in my opinion:
- The gunplay/gameplay in general. It is completely different from Siege but i'm loving it, reminds me of the older Modern Warfare gameplay and im having a blast when it goes to the gunplay and feeling
-Sound: I absolutely love the sound of this game, i dont know if it's realistic or not. When you are fighting on the C Bridge on Quarry with 20 people shooting around you, while tanks and helicopters are shooting and fighting around the building, a precision airstrike rains above you and a VTOL Jet and it's turbines blast trough the Air... It gives an amazing audio and feeling
- Weapon Balancing: Well not quite, i would take away the M4 and the 725 , those are OP imo right now. But beside them i consider most of the weapons to be very well balanced and every weapon can be used as a proper force. Lot of different weapons for different style of players, even tho i miss an UMP-45 :D
- Killstreaks: Wasn't really sure how i shoud implement those into this, i love most of the killstreaks. I see no killstreak as overpowered or similar ( even tho the VTOL Jet has a really long duration ) , in this case i would even say some stuff like the personal radar and the advanced UAV could need some buff... especially duration wise.
Neutral:
-SBMM: The skill based matchmaking is something i see getting a lot of critical opinions. While i understand the problem of playing with new starting friends and them getting queued with you in "advanced lobbies", as a former R6:Siege player i don't want to stomb noobs and rookies, playing against betteequal enemies makes myself better, not annihilating rookies. I put this in neutral, since i see its pros but also it cons.
Negative:
- Well who would have thought... Maps.: It's not only Siege, every shooter and its quality heavily depends on the maps. I have only 2 maps currently which i enjoy playing, which are St.Petrograd on Domination and Hackney Yard. All the other maps are horrible, my least fav ones are definetly Piccadilly and Rammaza, Piccadilly is just... Piccadilly. And Rammaza beside the 725 meta i get always attacked by 5 sides on every position and spawning on this map is horrible aswell.
- The games that result due the maps. I may be a bit biased, but im writing this post after 3 Games, 1 team deathmatch which ended due time ran out ( never had this in a CoD before?) , 1 deathmatch on cave which... was a camp fiesta. And the probably worst match i'Ve ever had on hackney yard. Domination. One enemy squad consisting of 3 peopel literally camped C all game with anti nade stuff and m4/725. I've never seen such a stupid gameplay and i cant even think of how this should be fun?

What i mean with how the game changes my playstyle:
I played 2,5 years of Siege, an often slow and tactical shooter with a lot of "waiting". I came to CoD to play CoD, i joined the Beta and Release of this game rushing around like a goose on crack, in a CoD i want Gun and Run. What the game delivers right now is the completely opposite, most games as a gun and run player are frustrating as hell. Claymore,725 or M4. That's enough said, i have my games which i really enjoy. Mostly Domination with 3-4 coordinated friends in a squad and lets go. But i see myself getting more and more passive, waiting more and more at positions for a longer time and just aiming down the sight for getting kills, i fear i will become one of those campers myself.

So whats my summarized opinion on this game?
I love it, and i hate it. The general gameplay and game is a ton of fun, especially domination & S&D with the right friends. But the maps and the resulting gameplay is what makes me hate the game at the same time. I really want the game to be alive and become great, and so i hope them to deliver some quick fixes for those.

Feels like a alpha!

Is it just me or does this game play like a polished alpha?
From the crashes that some of player base is encountering ( including myself) to the stuttering in cutscenes to the bugs. It all feels like a Alpha in my opinion I think a beta would work alittle better. Some have even said the beta worked better than the current build.
I have to say out of all the cods ive bought on PC ( modern warfare remastered,BO3, infinite warfare) this one has to have the worst performance at launch ive ever seen. And im at a point where ill probably never invest in a COD again. Dont get me wrong the game is fun when everything works, but those moments are far and few between.
And I know theirs other issues like camping and things like that, but I feel that I cant speak on those as I havent been able to experience that due to the game current crashing issues.
Just how I feel. how does anyone else feel about the games current state?

FOV decreasing when ads.

After playing the beta and watching a lot of videos of modern warfare I couldnt help but notice that a lot of the mechanics pertaining to your optics seem to have changed when ads-ing. All in all, the optics themselves seem to be more realistic which I love. But after watching more videos, I noticed that when ads-ing the players fov dramatically decreases (like it has for every other cod game made i believe) and the optic itself does not magnify as much as it really should because the fov has already been decreased so much when your ads. (Watch some videos and examine the optic itself when ads-ing. It does not offer much magnification when the fov has decreased so much already.) I guess in my mind, I really really think that the players fov should never change and the optics on your gun should magnify only what you see through the lens. It seems like the decreased fov when ads-ing contributes more to the players ability to hit targets through the optic, than the optic itself... Does that make sense? Anyways, since i noticed all of this I cant unsee it and it bothers me lol jk. I posted on here to see if anybody has also noticed this and to hear anybody elses opinion. Also, is there a good reason why it is the way it is?? Thanks!!!
